The author has drawn on his specific expertise in psychological assessments of technology teams to create a small graphic novel that aligns with Zig Ziglar's quote: "You don't build a business - you build people - and then people build the business."

Over the past five years, the diversity and inclusion movement in technology has made gains, but there is a long way to go. The majority of employees still operate in antiquated ways, unable to communicate and collaborate with their business. To change this, we need to think differently – and the first step is to increase technology employee's self-awareness and building teams based on natural skills.

In this exceptional mini graphic novel, join a Fintech founder, software engineer and technology veteran as they learn what's stopping them from progressing in their careers and how to harness the power of their natural 'conative' strengths.

D.O.A. is an expertly written resource that places people at the heart of a business and asserts that self-awareness, creativity and technology literacy are vital to optimising success and security. The author argues that this can only be achieved if people are free to act themselves re-enforcing his suggestion to: "Architect the Team, before Technology".

The buzz words are clear, and the advice is to be trusted - prioritise people to develop, diversify and optimise technology teams, regardless of the size of your business. Crammed with 'how-to' and the 'whys', D.O.A. includes best practice suggestions and action strategies to ultimately improve, re-design technology teams to increase wellness and productivity.

The author offers simple yet effective learning steps to help tech employers fully engage technology teams, reiterating how tech employees, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, role or industries, can all benefit if employers know how to increase diversity in technology by:

  • Recognise people's cognitive and natural strengths to enhance communication
  • Avoid hiring 'clones' to recruit a more diverse workforce
  • Improve productivity and creativity, especially in remote working teams

D.O.A. (Diversity of Action) is a must-have, uniquely created comic offering professional tips to businesses of all sizes to identify and harness the latent skills already in their technology workforce.

From D.O.A. to People First

Much more than a stand-alone resource, D.O.A. is a condensed teaser to the author's highly-recommend and weightier original publication, People First. In much the same vein, but an extended version, People First is an in-depth and indispensable book for people responsible for delivering post-merger integration projects but aiming to achieve an optimum technology transformation. People First excels at advising employers how best to:

  • develop high-performing teams spread across multiple companies
  • create and nurture a positive team culture
  • avoid common mistakes that can derail the integration
