André Warner, Manhunter series – Lex Lander
“André Warner is smooth, debonair and deadly… A very enjoyable read for those that enjoy hard and fast thrillers.” – Damppebbles
Book One – End as an Assassin
THIS TIME IT’S NOT FOR MONEY.
THIS TIME IT’S FOR BLOOD, PURE AND SIMPLE.
André Warner; professional killer, ex-British Secret Service. Thirty-nine contracts have made him a wealthy man. His fortieth is to be his last.
The hit goes smoothly, and the victim is dispatched with minimal fuss and no traces left to incriminate Warner. He drives off into the sunrise to hang up his gun and retire.
Then he meets Gina, a hauntingly beautiful divorcee. The timing is perfect, coinciding as it does with Warner’s new beginning.
Their idyll is shattered when a former associate turns against Warner, and he faces exposure and arrest. Accompanied by Gina, he flees his Geneva home, escaping the clutches of the Swiss police he runs into the far deadlier embrace of a Marseilles crime syndicate whose boss has a score to settle with Warner. Suddenly Gina is at risk and in trying to protect her he only makes matters worse.
His retirement plans in shreds, his life on the line, Warner is forced to stage a comeback. Only this time it’s not for money. It’s for blood, pure and simple.
“I was pulled straight into the world of the assassin – a world of guns, exotic locations and fast cars, and whether I wanted to or not, I was already rooting for the one-man killing machine, and booing/hissing at the bad guys. Lex Lander’s attention to detail reminded me of Frederick Forsyth, along with a chunk of that great man’s storytelling genius, too… If you like your villains mean and your heroes handsome you’ll be right at home.” – Squeaky Joe

BOOK TWO – I KILL
WHEN SHE WAS TAKEN FROM HIM HE WENT AFTER HER AND SEALED HER FATE – HIS TOO
Racked by guilt over his accidental killing of a young Italian girl, contract killer André Warner has effectively retired himself from his ‘profession’ and taken to drink and other palliatives, while sinking slowly into a mire of depression.
A contract in Tangier to assassinate an Arab drug trafficker lures him out of retirement and self-pity.
The contract on the drug merchant is cancelled with no explanation given, but Warner, now seriously involved with attractive American widow Clair, is more relieved than disappointed. Their budding romance is not destined to blossom however. Clair disappears and Warner is landed with the role of de facto guardian to her daughter, Lizzy.
“Lex Lander has crafted a well written, unique tale with many elegant turns of phrase. It is fast-paced, interesting and exciting” – Pete Didsbury

About the Author
Lex Lander is a British born writer of crime thrillers. He was raised in France, attended Auckland University in New Zealand where he obtained a degree in French and Italian, and is now living and working in Montreal, Canada. Despite heavy business commitments – he is a partner in a Property Realtor business – he is currently finding time for a steady output of substantial crime thrillers ‘until I achieve success. Failure is not an option’.
His first, Another Day, Another Jackal, was published in 2014 as a ‘trial run’ and is available as an eBook and a B-format paperback on Amazon. Volumes I and II in the André Warner, Manhunter series went to press in late 2016 and both were stocked and promoted by the UK’s largest book selling chain, WHSmith. These and more recent titles in the Warner series are also available as eBooks and B-Format paperbacks on Amazon.
Further titles in the Warner series are on their way, as well as a crime thriller set in the south of France, to launch a new series.
We hope and expect that Lex will become a force to be reckoned with in the crime writing world, and secure his future as a novelist of repute.
“Lander has the knack of creating believable characters, immersing them in real places where he seems very knowledgeable… There’s sex, violence and death aplenty. So be warned.” – Nik Morton
